NASA's Near Earth Object Program
I just wanted to provide everyone with a link to the official NASA program that watches for objects in space that are coming very close to the earth. Is the existence of this site comforting or does it make you a little uneasy? Oh and by the way , asteroid 2004 MC, discovered just this month by NASA, is predicted to come uncomfortably close to Earth on June 29th. Probably nothing to be concerned about but I'll be watching the sky that day. Also, check out Near Earth Object designated 2003 MK4. It's predicted to miss the earth by just half the distance of the earth to the moon on January 3, 2032.

Another meteor strike in New Zealand
Seems like this is a growing trend around the world. Are meteorites increasing in their frequency of reaching the earth? Is it something we should be concerned about? I guess if they're raining down on your home you should definitely be concerned! Here's another recent article from earlier this month about a meteorite hitting a home in New Zealand.
